Bingo. The scene root as part of the blueprint for the sprite was the issue. When I remove the scene root component by replacing it with the sprite, the flickering issue stops. Unfortunately, that completely changes the positional start point where a sprite is rendered, so I’ll have to go through and correct the positions of each layer, but the flickering has stopped. We can manage now. Yeah.! Unreal Engine 4.23. Paper Sprite 2d.
