This week was spent getting to know Unreal Engine, and reading the course sylabus and all the rubrics. Made the default 2D side scroll game to show Unreal was installed, and not much else.

This week was all about landscapes, how to make them, material then, etc… Had some issues, but got through pretty good I think. We need to make our own material/texture for class. With KJ’s help I made the texture for grass, using photos of our yard.

Unreal was picky, but made it through the tutorials. BSP geometry building a building, interaction, animation, and materials. Interesting mix. Main problem is that my player character falls through the floor randomly, or consistently at the intial build and play point.
