Steam Next Fest Deadline for submitting the Hat Trick Demo is Jan 6th.
FAIL — Did not get the demo done in time for the Jan deadline.
SUCCESS – Did get a basic store page setup so we can start adding the page to our streams and posts, maybe we will get some wishlists after we have a playable example.
Future Status:
We knew we weren’t going to make it to the deadline when Dragon’s daily migraines continued past October. There was just no way to meet it. We did our best and made good progress, and will continue to do so. The NEW plan is to complete the chapter 1 demo by Feb 15th 2026. Then enter it into the next “Steam Next Fest” probably in June, and then release the full game in July. This will give us plenty of time to finish the game, to do all the accessibility functionality we want, to build the translation data for the stories, and we’d really like to do steam achievements. (Dragon likes earning them when they play games… so…). If we get the game done early we can evaluate if we want to release early or not. We are flexible.
